Devil Baby Attacks New Yorkers in Terrifying Prank - PARADE

The marketing department of the supernatural horror film Devil’s Due can pat themselves on the back – they have successfully scared people into talking about the film with their epic ‘Devil Baby’ prank.

Creators of the ‘Devil Baby,’ a remote-controlled, vomit spewing demonic baby in a stroller, posted the video to YouTube on Tuesday and 24 hours later, it had been viewed more the 8.5 million times. In the video, unsuspecting New Yorkers checked on an unattended stroller left in the middle of the street, and got the fright of their lives when a freaky Chuckie-esque baby jumps up at them. The reactions are priceless, captured by hidden cameras. There is no dialogue in the video, just blood curdling wails and some Exorcist style spewing.

20th Century Fox’s Devil’s Due, out Jan. 17, tells the story of a new couple who find themselves dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. The baby was conceived during a night on their honeymoon that they both cannot remember. It becomes clear as the pregnancy progresses that the baby is far from sweet. It stars Allison Miller, Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights), and Sam Anderson, and is directed by Eli Roth.

Roth described the film as “smart, creative, inventive, and fun’ and ‘very very scary.”

The ‘Devil Baby’ isn’t the first scary prank to draw attention to a film. The creators of the Carrie remake staged a telekinetic prank in a coffee shop earlier this year.
