Regardless of what happens in the rest of the 2014 NBA Draft, the best moment has already taken place. Baylor's Isaiah Austin was honored by the league in between the No. 15 and No. 16 picks, with NBA commissioner Adam Silver trying to give him as authentic a draft experience as possible. Austin is less than a week removed from learning that his basketball career was over because he'd been diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome.
"With the next pick in the 2014 NBA Draft," Silver said from the stage, "the NBA selects Isaiah Austin from Baylor University."
Austin walked up, shook Silver's hand and received a standing ovation. He then did his interview with Jay Williams. He, and all who witnessed it, will never forget it.
