After taking a line drive to the face in a terrifying incident Wednesday, Reds closer Aroldis Chapman endured surgery to fix a broken bone above his left eye.

Chapman, who also suffered a mild concussion, is expected to make a full recovery and begin throwing again within two weeks — a stunningly positive outlook considering the severity of the blow. And after his surgery, the Cuban-born fireballer posted a photo of his scar, still under surgical staples, to Instagram.

Yikes.

“My people, all is well,” he wrote in Spanish on the site. “I’m here waiting to be discharged.”
