It was clearly a painful moment when I asked Bruins President Cam Neely how he felt about his team being ousted by the Montreal Canadians in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Neely admitted the team got away from their style of play, something that almost always is a recipe for disaster.
With many questions lingering around the state of the current team, Neely is sticking to the word “tweaking” when describing the changes, or lack thereof, that need to be made to the roster. Will there be a shake-up? That remains to be seen. Neely has his wish list but wouldn’t show his hand.
Off the ice, word is that Neely will make an appearance in “Dumb And Dumber To” — the sequel to the popular comedy flick staring Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey. He confirmed that he did indeed tape a scene, but is unsure if it’ll make it to the big screen.
Having grown up in Boston, Cam Neely was my childhood hero. Sitting with Neely yesterday confirmed what I always believed about the long-time Bruin forward; he’s a class act, a true professional, and an absolute pleasure to converse with. Plus, who doesn’t love “Sea Bass?” — his beefy truck-stop thug in the original “Dumb and Dumber.”
