Free agent forward Josh McRoberts has agreed to join the Miami Heat on a four-year, $23 million deal, a person with knowledge of the agreement told USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal can't be formalized until the free agency moratorium lifts on July 10.
McRoberts, a 6-10 power forward, averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 30.3 minutes per game for the Charlotte Bobcats last season, and he chose joining the Heat over the renamed Hornets. The Heat were expected to use their full midlevel exception on the 27-year-old.
