Last night's episode of The Bachelorette was a tearjerker!
While the reality show has addressed the tragic April death of former contestant Eric Hill, last night's episode documented when Andi Dorfman and the rest of the cast found out about his untimely passing.
First, the news was delivered to Andi from host Chris Harrison that her former potential husband died in a paragliding accident and then he addressed the other men.
Chris told the group of men:
“You all know Eric Hill. He — a couple of days ago — was in Utah paragliding and was in a serious accident. We knew he was hurt bad we just didn’t know how bad. We learned this morning that he passed away.”
The way the producers handled the traumatic news has left many fans upset.
Many questioned whether Eric's death was exploited for ratings since the reality series is known to capitalize on drama.
We must try to cut ABC a break though. It has to be REALLY difficult to deal with this sort of subject matter. It is hard to remain on the fine line between ignoring a man's life and reminding viewers distastefully over and over again.
