Carmelo Anthony has narrowed his choice to two teams, according to ESPN’s Stephen A.Smith.
The Rockets have been pursuing Carmelo Anthony since the free agency period began. When Anthony visited Houston there was a lot of drama swirling around the Rockets.
Carmelo Anthony has been said to be dying to win, so the Houston Rockets were a legitimate option for him.
Carmelo Anthony was the third star that the Rockets were looking into. Many thought that Anthony would come to Houston to team up with James Harden and Dwight Howard, so the burden would be lifted from Anthony to score as much as he has had to in the past.
Carmelo Anthony has crossed the Rockets of his list as the race is now down to two. The Chicago Bulls have re-emerged as the front runners to take Carmelo Anthony from the Knicks. The Rockets were not too concerned with Anthony crossing them off his list because they have focused their attention to Chris Bosh.
Chris Bosh was suppose to sign with the Rockets until the Heat offered Bosh a maximum contract.
At the end of the day it seems like Carmelo is fearful of the Western Conference. The West is far more competitive than the East and it looks like Anthony believes his best chance to win is in the Eastern Conference.
If Carmelo Anthony joins the Bulls I believe they will have the best chance to compete with the new LeBron James led Cleveland Cavilers.
The NBA activity is off the charts with the LeBron James announcement. Carmelo Anthony is set to make his decision at any time but that decision will not involve the Houston Rockets.
