A helicopter belonging to Seattle ABC News affiliate KOMO 4 crashed near the city's iconic Space Needle on Tuesday morning, killing the two people inside and critically injuring a third individual who was in a car at the site of the crash, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
The helicopter crashed into several vehicles on Broad Street shortly after taking off from the channel's headqaurters at Fisher Plaza, which is just minutes away from Seattle Center. It was immediately engulfed in flames.
The injured man emerged from his car shortly after the crash with his clothes in flames. Fire Department officials extinguished the flames, according to reports, and took the man to the hospital. He had burns on over 50 percent of his body, according to KOMO News.
The Seattle Fire Department has yet to reveal the names of the individuals involved in the crash.

UPDATE (3:00 p.m.): The two men who died in the crash have been identified as KOMO 4 News photographer Bill Strothman and pilot Gary Pfitzner.
