Some people who heard about the just-announced "Mrs. Doubtfire" sequel may have been a bit skeptical about the news, and one of the stars of the original film is among them.
Mara Wilson, who played Robin Williams and Sally Field's young daughter Natalie Hillard in the 1993 comedy, has come out and said she has "no interest" in being part of the new movie.
"I've been in some mediocre movies, but I've never been in a sequel. And I have no interest in being in one now," she said on Twitter, adding, "Sequels generally suck unless they were planned as part of a trilogy or series. I think Doubtfire ended where it needed to end."
On her Facebook page, Wilson added, "I loved having the chance to be a part of Mrs. Doubtfire twenty years ago, they haven't asked me to be a part of the sequel, I don't think I'd suit the part even if they did, I don't act in films anymore anyway, and I liked where the last one ended so don't really think a sequel is necessary."
It was announced this week that a "Mrs. Doubtfire" sequel was in the works, with Williams and Chris Columbus both expected to return.
